Buffalo’s Erie Canal Tour – The Erie Canal helped to propel the small village of Buffalo, New York into one America’s wealthiest cities in the 19th Century. The Buffalo Canal terminus was filled in 1920 and is currently being rebuilt as a tourist attraction.
On this tour you can hear stories about Buffalo’s growth and the impact the Canal had on the city. See the Canal up close and hear about Dug’s Dive, Fingy Connors, murders, brothels and much more. The Canal was certainly a colorful, if not dangerous, place. Our walking tour will take you on a trip to see what is being done to recreate the western terminus in downtown Buffalo and give you stories about the people and times.
ONLY One Tour in 2013.
